Description

Dewar was manufactured at Holmegaard and Kastrup Glassworks between 1900 and 1940

The cut is very similar to Holmegaard's classic cut with alternating two acorns at the top and two acorns at the bottom

The glass appears in Holmegaard's catalogue from 1900 as "Toddy glass No

In the book "Danské glas 1825-1925" the glass is shown together with 2 others of the same type

To produce this knob

Stamme portvinsglas Drikkeglas Dewar was manufactured at HolmegaardHeight 10. 5 cm. The stem was designed by Grethe Meyer and Ibi Trier Mrch in 1958, and was discontinued in 1978. When Kastrup and Holmegaard Glasvrk merged in 1965, decanters and cylindrical glasses were discontinued. The glass is one of Denmark's only stackable glasses, which helped make the glass extremely popular. On a couple of shelves in the kitchen, you could store enough glasses for all large parties.
