This wonderful top was made from midnight blue silk jersey in the 1920s

The downwards facing scalloped collar is decorated with contrasting white stitching which has been mirrored on the fabulous detailing at the waist

we think we may have photographed this piece back to front (the label is at the side of the deep V neckline) and it could equally be worn with the high neckline at the front for a more demure 1930s style look with a deep V back

There is a stain to the wearer’s left shoulder and two tiny pin holes to the inside of the neckline and to the sleeve

The jacket is fastened with three chrome buttons with faux mother of pearl centres
